Senko Abrasive Blasting in Brisbane offer Different Types of Abrasive Blasting

We offer a range of different abrasive blasting types at Senko Abrasive Blasting in Brisbane. When you call us, or you come into our workshop one of our knowledgeable staff will be able to help you determine which of these abrasive blasting services will be right for you. Here is some general information on the types of our abrasive blasting services to get you started.

Abrasive Blasting Type One: Sandblasting

Abrasive blasting is often also referred to as sandblasting. The act of sandblasting is literally blasting sand or finite sand like pieces of material into a surface. There are two main purposes of sandblasting. The first is to clean a surface and remove debris and the second is to carve designs into glass and other similar materials.

Abrasive Blasting Type Two: Soda Blasting

Soda blasting is fairly new type of abrasive blasting. Soda blasting works the same way as sandblasting and is great for removing debris or smoothing a surface. However, because the sodium bicarbonate material shatters on contact, soda blasting is a gentler option than sandblasting and can be used for materials with specific requirements like chrome, plastics and glass.

Abrasive Blasting Type Three: Bead Blasting

Bead blasting consists of blasting tiny glass beads with high pressure at different surfaces. Mainly bead blasting can be used to remove calcium build up on things like pool tiles. It can also remove fungus from items and brighten the colour.

Abrasive Blasting Type Four: Walnut Blasting

Walnut Blasting is the perfect way to clean a car engine, without damaging any of the delicate parts under your hood.

Abrasive Blasting Type Five: Garnet Blasting

Garnet blasting is great to use on steel and perfect for getting rid of corrosion.

With the above techniques we can use our abrasive blasting services on any type of material you desire. We’re able to everything from bring furniture back to life and clean tractor engines. Call us to have a chat with one of our friendly staff and see what we can do for you.
